Assistant Professor Cynthia Koman presented “Health Sciences Collection Development at a Community College” at the SUNY Librarians Association (SUNYLA) annual conference held June 8 to 10 at the University of Binghamton
The conference is attended by hundreds of librarians across the state. Koman’s presentation focused on her efforts to continually assess collection use of books purchased in print and online formats in support of health sciences curricula.
Koman supervised graduate intern Stephanie Clowe from the University at Albany’s School of Information Studies during the spring semester. Clowe was awarded the Daniel F. Kissane Memorial Scholarship to attend the SUNYLA conference with all expenses paid. The scholarship provides an introduction to academic librarianship and professional growth opportunities, and encourages involvement with SUNYLA for promising emerging professionals.
